Oliver James Foods held a ‘Strength and Fitness Games Day’ at a local gym, JDAR sports, in Birmingham. Colleagues competed with each other in 7 gruelling events that would sap every ounce of energy and test every muscle! The teams were supported by cheerleaders encouraging them to go beyond their physical limits, and the music from the resident DJ kept the pulses racing.
The activities comprised of dynamic strength, isometric and cardiovascular events including tyre flipping, farmers walk, shoulder pressing, a 2.25 mile run and a tug-of-war. It took place over a 5 hour period, with many protein bars and energy drinks consumed over the course of the day. All teams were highly competitive and the range of exercises ensured everyone was truly tested.
After a titanic battle in the final tug of war, the winning team comprised of Casey Higgins, Soran Ali Karim and Chris Orr and they duly received their winners medals with pride. Nathan Morris and Alicia Staskiewicz were also awarded individual achievement medals.
This was a great company event as everyone enjoyed the day and the team spirit was running exceptionally high. Thank you to those who organised and participated in the event to make it a success.
